Moon has a subtle, yet quite a potent influence on all living beings on this planet. Astrologically, it’s one of the most important planets of our natal chart. It holds such an important place because it describes our emotions, subconsciousness, intuition and our inner child. The symbolism of the Moon is connected with everything that comes from the inner layer of our personality.
There are so many people who know exactly what they don’t need and don’t want. Yet, when it comes to defining the inner needs and wishes, it seems like not so many people can talk about it with such certainty. Nowadays, many experience difficulties to connect with the inner self. The abundance of information and different sensations around us, aided this disconnection between our mind and our body. Hence, even if we get a clear signal from our body that tells us about our inner needs, our mind is going to question it and in the end we won’t be certain about it. It seems like our mind needs a kind of confirmation about what our inner self has suggested to us. The Moon sign, its position and aspects can provide us with such a confirmation and help us understand our inner signals better.
The Moon sign and placement can be our door of perception towards the needs of our inner child. Through this door you might notice whether we care too much or too little about this child? If we only do what we “have to” without enjoying any of life’s colours and juices, life can become quite dull. We should never forget what makes us happy and what encourages the child within us to create, play and feel joy. Yet, being too codependent on our inner child’s needs can lead us into overindulging ourselves when allowing this part of our psyche to go too wild. They don’t call it a child for nothing after all 😉
The Moon sign and placement can help us understand our reactions better. It can depict our most subjective view on the things around us and the way we respond to them. These reactions could be quite contradictory in regards to what we consider the pillars of our personality.
Most of us invest so much time, energy and money after all, to improve the quality of our life. We wish to discover and use our full potential, striving to be constantly positive and happy. But is the path that we are carving out for ourselves daily, really a path of our true happiness?
Maybe from some conscious level we WANT to become a doctor or a world known musician or a successful lawyer. All that we WANT comes from our conscious level and it’s a product of different beliefs. The question is: How many of these beliefs are really ours? As we are growing up, we pick up so many of these beliefs from our parents, teachers, friends or people we look up to. These beliefs become a part of our consciousness and the things that we WANT. Astrologically, we look at these subjects through the Sun sign.
So, at the end of the day, we can become a successful doctor, musician or lawyer without being truly happy and without even experiencing true satisfaction.
The reasons why we don’t feel fulfilled usually come down to following the leads of our conscious level ( astrologically our SUN), while neglecting our inner voice, intuition and direction of our heart ( represented by the Moon). The Moon sign and its placement in our natal chart can help us introduce ourselves better with our inner child or simply to show us how it felt before all prohibitions, obligations and suppressions that family and society have put down our shoulders.
Shortly, the concept of the inner child represents the part of our psyche that has been built from the moment we were conceived along through our childhood. Being in touch with this part of our psyche means being in touch with creativity, joy and pleasure . The sign, position and aspects of the Moon in our horoscope can help us to get closer to our authentic self and our true purpose. It can help us to understand ourselves better and live life with more contentment.
In some of our coming blog posts we are going to write about each Moon sign of the horoscope.
Astrology can assist us to understand ourselves better in so many ways.
